The penis anatomy

We will study the penis anatomy according to its penis shape and size in the erect state. The erect penis size is quite intriguing. The human penis can measure from 2 cm (1”) to 25 cm (10”) bone pressed in erect state. Human being is the only living mammal race with such a penis size difference between individuals. The apes don’t have such an issue between each other. In fact, Scientists prove penis size is not a mating factor among apes, orang-utans and bonobos. It is useless to try comparing human mating with apes. Studying apes to better understand human sexuality is also not helpful. Human penis is totally different from apes. The penis average of a man is way bigger than chimps. Chimps average erect penis size is 3.14 inches (8 cm) and gorillas erect penis is 1.5 inches long (4 cm) on average. Plus, the apes’ penis has a bone in it.

The anthropologist Helen Fisher had a theory for the human penis size. She stated women always chose the biggest penises through ages to shape the actual human penis size (bigger than apes).

We know the human penis comes with a wide panel of sizes. 95% of men population have a penis measuring between 8 cm (3.14 inches) and 18.5 cm (7.2 inches) bone pressed in erect state. It is a range of 10.5 cm (4.13 inches).

However, nobody can explain why there is such a variety of human penis sizes. Actually, There is no proof of a large or small penis gene.

The conclusion of this paragraph is inequality and heterogeneity. Human penis comes in all shapes and sizes. It is not only a length difference. There are also girth differences from the penis shaft and the glans. For instance, One glans may look like a mushroom and another one may look like a rocket head. One penis can be tremendously different from another penis. If we look at this aspect from the evolutionary theory point of view, science still doesn’t know why there are so many differences in shapes between penises.

In the context of the evolutionary theory, penis size is a marginal evolution characteristic that is not related to any other body characteristics. In 2002, a study led by J. Shah and Christopher debunked the myth: “big shoes, large penis”. They concluded, ”The median stretched penile length for the sampled population was 13 cm and the median UK shoe size was 9 (European 43). There was no statistically significant correlation between shoe size and stretched penile length”.

The male body characteristics are shaped by environment. For instance, people living in a hot climate are smaller and the hair is darker than people living in a cold climate. The human body adapted its environment. On the other hand, environment has not shaped penis size. The best evidence is the existence of two penis groups in every male ethnic group. In the sixties, Master and Johnson made the following observation: In the male humans’ group, there are two kinds of penis groups: «the showers» and the «growers». The «showers» are penises that grow just a bit when they get erect. In the flaccid state, those penises look pretty big. The «growers» are penises that grow a lot during erection. In the flaccid state, they look modest.

.Then, in each ethnic population, there are small, medium and large erect penises. We find small, medium and large erect penises among caucasian, asian and african men. This means human penis may have been shaped before all men mutated to look different from each other as today. By the way, in 2012, there is still no medical study that confirmed any penis size differences between ethnic groups. There are perhaps penis size differences between ethnic groups but we didn’t find any evidence of it
